Air Barrier / Building Envelope Testing
An Air Barrier controls the unintended movement of air into and out of a building enclosure. The testing of the effectiveness of the buildings air barrier is called “Building Envelope or Enclosure Testing” or “Air Barrier Testing”. This testing is typically accomplished by using blower door fans, installed in the perimeter of the building to pressurize and or depressurize the space while measuring air exfiltration and or infiltration at a given test pressure. While a building is under blower door test pressure, an infrared thermal imaging camera may be used to help locate and identify leakage through the air barrier system.
Buildings with a properly installed air barrier system can operate properly with a smaller more efficient HVAC system. Air Commander Testing & Balancing offers these new and innovative technologies to our customers with the desire to aid in the process of building more energy efficient and cost effective buildings.
Also know as Building Enclosure Testing.
